After reading, and re reading "The Flea" I think that its talking about a child in the beginning, about how two people had created a third. After that I was really confused. I think that it goes to them getting married and then finally they die with one killing the child and then the other.
I'm not very good at this.. but that's what I got..

Poetry
My experience with poetry is not a lot. I know a little bit about rhyme scheme, and have read some, but I'm not sure exactly who the artists were. I have attempted writing my own and to me I think poetry is really just trying to tell someone the was you feel about something. May that something be a relationship, or an inanimate object. I also think that poetry can be really good just from an everyday person, it just depends how much passion is put into it.

3 Faustus
After finishing the Drama, it's like Faustus really got what he deserved after selling his soul to the Devil... However, he didn't really use any of his magic for what he had intended on using it for in the first place... all that he really did was mess around with and play jokes on people that really didn't result to anything. At the end Faustus goes on this rant about he wishes that he could repent for his sins because he really doesn't want to be damned to hell. I think that this is important Drama that was really meant to teach what was right and what is wrong to people in an age that might not know what to believe or follow.

Dr. Faustus 2
I think so far that this Drama is about morals. Like about what is right and what is wrong and how a person a can be very indecisive about what they believe. Faustus is tired of what he knows and he believes that buy selling is soul he can have powers to raise the dead; but in this he finds himself questioning if he really did sells his soul and if Hell even exists. I think that Faustus really wants to be good but he isn't sure that he did the right thing... how ever! He wants to have money and power so that takes over what he thinks... I do think that he will always think that he followed the "wrong" path, and that maybe if he could repent that he would be ok. After this the scene with the devil coming to see him he's told that he mustn't talk about God, Heaven, or anything that is related to God. I think at first Faustus is ok with this, but i think that he will be upset by it in the end and that he will eventually feel lonely. In scene V we find that someone has stolen Faustus's book. I'm not sure where that will go, and I'm really unsure of the consequences that it will have on Faustus, but I think that it will all tie together eventually.

Reaction to Dr. Faustus Act I
I think that Faustus is an evil man. He is so filled with all this knowledge and doesn't want to share that with the people around him. He would rather practice dark magic and attempt to raise the dead instead of helping the living. I think that he is essentially being too proud and selfish. I think the end of Faustus is going to be something tragic yet deserving from the way he acts now.

The Little Mermaid
I thought that the point of view was third person limited omniscient because the narrator really focus's on the youngest little mermaid the most. I chose this story because I thought that it would be the most appealing to me. I was, however, disappointing in the ending of it because I never knew that the youngest mermaid never married the prince. The setting of this story takes place half at see and half on land. I think that the sister mermaids are the most influential, as well as the Prince, to the setting.

Compare and Contrast
Both of the stories started in the middle of the story to make it more dramatic and seem more intense then the story actually was. This helps the plot of each story. The plot in "The Birthmark" was to get the birthmark off of the women. In doing so Alymar killed his wife. This plot had a surprising ending and the characters were very different all throughout the story. The dynamic character is Georgina because she went through a change in the story - Dieing. Alymar was a static character because he had one thing on his mind and one goal - to get the mole off of his wife's face. In "Bartleby, the Scrivener" the plot is mainly about how the characters are useful to one another. If they were not useful in the plot then they were not talked about. All the characters where static characters besides the lawyer. He had to constantly change what he was doing to make up for what the others were doing.
I think that when comparing the two stories we learn that no one is perfect and in trying to change them into perfect we destroy who they are and what they should be and possibly even kill them off completely.

Racism
I guess that I was really blinded by a sheltered life here in the midwest, I never thought that the KKK or racism in south was really that bad. I knew that there still was some racism but not that much. I guess i'm really surprised and it bothers me that its still here. Its not right for people to be like that to treat other people like shit and to degrade them. I guess it bothers me that I really didn't know about all of what was going on and it scared me to think that even after all those people fought to be rid of the racism that its still here. I think that because we will always have people of different race's and color's we will always have prejudice people in the world. Its not right, but it happens. I do think that this needs to change and i believe that maybe the U.S needs to get it's nose out of afghanistan and Iraq and into it's own soil so that it can change the way we are.

45% Of Students Don't Learn Much In College
I think that what they are saying in this article is really true. I think that alot of the material that they have for required materials in the first few years of college is a lot of repeat of hich school. I do know that in my psychology class that I took last semester, It was almost exactly like that i took in my junior year of high school. I think that if they really want us to learn more then they should be pushing for harder classes. Ones that aren't repetes from High School. I do think that your class is healthy for us because you make us think about what we are talking about and its not an easy class.
Fake Twitter Acounts
I think that its pretty ridiculous that in our society today, if we aren't of a high power then our opinions don't matter as much. With everything that is going on now a days, with fraud, I think that these people that use other names to create an image for theselves is kind of like steeling. The guy that used the fake name to state things about the Republican consultant just shows how creepy people are. With all the new technology that is out there it is giving people ideas to try to steel other people's lives. I think that is unamerican and really unethical.
My First Paper
Well, I really am not good a writing research papers. I thought that the book was really good, I just didn't see the point of writing a research paper about it. I do think that a little more like constructive critisizim would be more helpful to sriting papers and especially on in class things like the essay quiz. I think that it would be helpful if we didn't get an A on that paper and got B or C or F then you could explain a little about what you thought that it needed to make it better. I think that would have made writing this paper, and others in the future more helpful.

The Metamrphosis
After reading this short story for a second time I really understood it more. You an defiantly see that Gregor was the main income for the family and once he becomes ill (or a bug) then the family isn't there for him as he was there for them before he got sick. After reading the story I do believe, however, that maybe Gregor never turned into a bug but more so went crazy from stressing out so much over work and his family. I thought the author did a good job in creating the story and it was defiantly interesting to read.

Topic for Paper
The topic I am choosing for my paper over "WE" is about how every one was robotic and programmed to be the same. They only had a little bit of freedom in the begging, like during their personal hours, and then nothing in the end. They literally were brain washed into doing exactly what the Benefactor wants them to do and when he wants them to do it. Everything follows a tight schedule and when things do not go as they are supposed to the consequences seem to be great. An example would be that because I-330 was tricking D-503 to do what ever she wanted him to do then he would develope an "imagination" which was considred to be a sickness and something that needed to be cured. I'm not sure that I coulod live in a world like that because I would just be a number with no family and nothing to believe in besides the one thing that gave me orders. So this is the topic that I choose to write about in my paper.

"WE"
After finishing this book I was very dissapointed that D-503 got the operation and basically let down the unnumbered race. When reading the book I got so into the point of revolution and change and the fall of the Benefactor that when D-503 was watching I-330 almost die through the gas chamber that he didin't know who she was or how he knew her. I think that this was a very dissapointing end to a great story. I would have like to see the revolution take place and see thatD-503 and I-330 and O would have lived in a free world. I think that it would have made the end more satisfying. Overall I really enjoyed this book.

One thing that I hate about the One State - 1/26/2011
I actually finished the book by accident. I had to keep reading and see how it ended. One thing that I would hate about the One State would not having an identity. Everyone in the One State is given a number and told who they could see and have sex with, what they were going to do when the grew up and given a time schedule for each day. I would feel completely like a robot that was following other peoples commands and not living to the full extent and doing things for myself. I think that it would be horrible to live in a world like that. No one would really be any different then the other person. I think that having a soul and an imagination makes us each unique as individuals and with out them we are nothing but robots. Mindless machines that obey commands. I think that it would be worse then being a dog. A dog has more freedom then what the people in this book have and the control that One State has on them is terrifying because it could be something that happens to us in the future. I think that sometimes people get ideas from television and from books that they read, so honestly i believe that one day maybe someone will try to rule mankind and turn them into mindless robots. I am defiantly grateful that I wasn't born in a time period that was strict on what people could do. We do have rules to follow in our society's and the laws but we are able to be creative and unique from everyone else which i think is very important to being a human being on Earth.

Critique on "WE"
After reading "WE" to this point I found that it is interesting the way that the Author describes things. Writtin in the 1920's "WE" has a sense that there is a revolution about to happen to what has been literaly forced apon them. In a cultural context readers can see why the novel wasn't published when it was written in Russia. During that time period Russia was under a rule that made everyone be similar and follow schedules. However, unlike the novel there is life everywhere on Earth besides Russia. I believe that this novel in itself is an exaple of how revolutions can take place and work. I believe that the reason that Russia would not let this book be published and the author banished because Russia had not wanted him to start a revolution of their own.

Text book Assignment for 1-21-2010
A. STYLE, TONE, AND IRONY
- The author of WE uses style in his records because he takes and leaves some of his sentences un-finished. Sometimes the rest of what he was trying to say is clear, but sometimes there are many different ways that the ends could go.
- The author starts off using a tone that is more relaxed and ..descriptive of what the life is like of his main character. After a while the records start to take on a sense of concern and D-503 starts to think that he is essentially going crazy.
- The author uses irony through his main character D-503. D-503 is a mathematician and therefor thinks about things, most of the time, in mathematical terms. When he is describing some of the other character's features D-503 uses words like - box, triangle, and etc.- to describe what their face looks like. The author also adds in the irony that everything is perfect, yet we can see that a perfect system will/ and can be flawed.
B. PLOT
- The plot throughout the story, so far, is that D-503 is writing records of what is happening to him and the One State. The One State is stated to be what is keeping everyone "in line". Everything is on a schedule and everyone is literally all the same with only the difference in name and occupation. The story seems to be taking place in the far future.
C. CHARACTERIZATION
- I think that D-503 has a sense of existence because he has, first off, a heart beat. He writes and talks and has a job and it even talked about his education a little bit. So he seems to be human and real which really gives off a feeling that he may actually and eventually live.
D. SETTING
- The setting is some time in the future in a "One State" which is essentially a town, everyone is the same and expected to follow the exact same structured life and schedule.
E. POINT OF VIEW
-The author takes a first person point of view along with a neutral omniscience view where D-503 is telling the story and we see what he sees and feels.
F. SYMBOL
-I'm not sure what is being used a symbol throughout the story. I think that the life of the Ancients might be a symbol as to the future of D-503 and I-330, but I'm not sure.
G. THEME
- I think the theme of this novel is about how the structured life of the One State is slowly crumbling.
I really like this book so far! It's really interesting.

Introduction
My name is Savannah Witte. I am 18 years old and i grew up in Pierre, SD. I like to go by the name Anna.
I have lived almost all of my life in the country. When I was eight my mother entered me into 4-H and that's when I has started rodeo. I love Horses and my favorite thing to do is barrel race. I have grown up with a variety of animals. Some of those have been horses, cows, cats, dogs, and the occasional ferret.
Some of my hobbies include ridindg horses, firgure skating, playing the piano, tennis, and knitting. I have skated almost all my life and I am currently at the Juvinile level. If I take a few tests I would be eligible to teach the basic levels.
My intended major is in Psychology, however, I am tracking pre-vet because I would love to end up doing something with horses or animals.
In 2009 I won the High School River Region title for queen contest. (Rodeo Ambassador) I was able to travel to Belle Fouche to compete to go to nationals. I ended up recieveng 5th.
One interesting fact about me is that my mother is from Canada so we travel up there alot to see my reletives.
